Daniella Zlotnik Raz

Research area: Children's political rights, children's political participation, children and deliberative democracy, child participation in public decision-making and in policy-making.
Education: Daniella is a currently completing her PhD at the Faculty of Law, University of Haifa, Israel. Her research focuses on children's political rights, political participation, and participation in deliberative decision-making from a CRC perspective. Daniella completed the Master of Laws: Advanced Studies in International Children's Rights program at Leiden University, the Netherlands (LL.M., cum laude), and holds a bachelor's degree in Law and Comparative Literature from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel (LL.B., cum laude).
Work Experience: In addition to her PhD study, Daniella is a lawyer and works as the Deputy Legal Advisor and Head of Legal Research and Policy at the Israeli National Council for the Child (CSO). As part of her work, Daniella drafts legislation proposals and policy papers; develops and oversees projects on youth participation in policy-making; and writes reports on diverse children's rights issues in Israel.
In addition to her work at the National Council for the Child, Daniella is also a member of the 'Leiden Children's Rights Observatory' editorial team, and does research projects for a Public Committee in Israel focusing on child protection, care and supervision. Previously, Daniella worked as a researcher and junior lecturer at the Child Law department at Leiden University, the Netherlands.
